Jean Paul Gaultier decided to do a tribute to remember Amy Winehouse and her style during his S/S runway show this week. Many of the fashion pieces seen on the runway were inspired by Amy's style as well as the hair and makeup. Gaultier himself said “She was an icon of fashion and truly, the sense of how she mixed the clothes — it was great,” I think it was a really cool idea and was a great tribute. However, Amy's own father is not happy with the runway show and told The Sun that “We’re still grieving for her loss, and we’ve had a difficult week with the six-month anniversary of Amy’s death. To see her image lifted wholesale to sell clothes was a wrench we were not expecting, or consulted on. It portrays a view of Amy when she was not at her best, and glamorizes some of the more upsetting times in her life,” Now, it probably would have been a good idea to get the okay before doing the show, but I don't think this was some sort of gimmick to make more money; simply a tribute to Amy and her style. I think it was tastefully done and the models and pieces look great.

Coloured Hair
Lately it seems like unconventional hair colour has become a fashion trend! It used to just be seen on 'punk' kids etc but now you can see it in high fashion magazines and on celebrities! Personally I'm a fan of the trend for the most part if done right. I still can't stand it when you see someone who dyed their hair pink and it becomes a washed out mess with nasty roots. But here are some examples of coloured hair done right!
Selena Gomez
Kate Bosworth
Lady GaGa
Katy Perry
Dakota Fanning
Audrey Kitching
What do you think of the trend? Would you add some colour to your hair?

Soy Candles by Diamond Candles
I love candles and especially scented ones that smell when you burn them. There are tons of scented candles but some of them when you actually burn them don't smell like anything :S. My favourite candles are from Bath and Body Works, but today I came across these really cool candles online.
These candles come with something extra special; not just a great scent. They come with a ring inside! It's like getting one of those mystery bags at cheap jewelry stores or candy stores, but the prize could be worth much more in these candles! Now they say the ring can be anywhere from $10 and up with some rings being worth over a $1000! Obviously those ones are pretty rare, but it's still exciting to see what you get! Some of the rings are pretty nice, but other ones are kind of ugly haha. I guess it's just a game of luck!
Clearly that woman on the bottom has bought a lot haha. The candles are also made out of soy which is interesting. If you want to get your own go to Diamond Candles.

Benefit Boi-ing Concealer
I thought I would feature one of my favourite makeup items: Benefit Boi-ing Concealer. At first I wasn't that interested in this product because it came with kind of a hefty price tag (for me anyway). But I decided to try it a few years ago when I was at Sephora. I was amazed at how well the concealer helped reduce the darkness under my eyes. I highly recommend this concealer not only for the under eye region but also for anywhere else on your face. But if you wake up with circles under your eyes quite a bit this is the perfect makeup item for you! It can help cover up other blemishes or imperfections too. You can get it at Sephora or BenefitCosmetics.com/ and it comes in 3 shades that blend in really well.

Asian Glazed Drumsticks
Lately I've been trying to cook healthier, so I created a board on Pinterest to post healthy recipes on to. This week I actually decided to try one of those recipes, and I chose the Asian Glazed Drumsticks from Skinny Taste. They were quite delicious and relatively easy to make. I would definitely make these again! Here's the recipe:
In a heavy large saucepan, brown chicken on high for 3-4 minutes with a little spray oil. Add water, balsamic, soy sauce, agave, garlic, ginger, hot sauce and cook on high until liquid comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered for about 20 minutes. Remove cover and bring heat to high, allowing sauce to reduce down, about 8-10 minutes, until it becomes a thick glaze, turning chicken occasionally. (Keep an eye on glaze, you don't want it to burn when it starts becoming thick) Transfer chicken to a platter and pour glaze on top. Top with chives and sesame seeds and serve.
Enjoy!
- 8 medium chicken drumsticks, skin removed
- olive oil spray
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp Sriracha hot sauce (more or less to taste)
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 4 tsp agave nectar (or sugar)
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp chives or scallions (I used green onions), chopped
- 1 tsp sesame seeds

Fashion Wants
I shouldn't have done this, but I love the website LuLus.com and when I was looking at another blog there was an ad for LuLus, and being the idiot I am I clicked on it. The reason it's a bad idea is because I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything online until I got a new job! So I'm basically just torturing myself. But anyway, I decided a new healthy way to curb my online shopping addiction would be to post items I like on here instead of actually buying them :). So here are my fashions wants from LuLus:
Jeffrey Campbell Nightwlk-F Yellow Black Hearts Platforms
A-Cute Angle Gold Necklace

Privileged Gorgeous Black Rhinestone Wedge Pumps

I love this Harajuku inspired fashion spread so much! I love anything that's Japanese pretty much like all the cute (kawaii) stuff in the spread! And I especially love the appearances from Hello Kitty!
